As racing begins to wind down for the one day of the year where no racing takes place, the team at Green Ridge Stables continue to be rewarded for their hard work with 9 winners chalked up in the last 12 days alone.
New recruit CARLTON claimed two of these victories in as many starts for the yard, firstly on the 12th December when getting up by half a length over 1m 6f at Chelmsford. Returning to the same course and distance last Thursday, he won cosily by almost a length for long-time yard supporters the Think Big Partnership. The passionate owners started with Pointers in the yard and have followed James as the yard has grown to have several successful horses under rules. The ex-Godolphin son of FRANKEL is shaping up to be an exciting prospect for the owners and was privately sourced for the owners by James.
Just an hour earlier on the same card at Chelmsford last Thursday, FOREVER PROUD also saw off a challenge to land a mile contest by a neck. Hector crouched aboard the four-year-old filly to get off the mark for the first time with her new handler and sporting the Deva Racing silks. She was turned around quickly to back this up with a runner-up finish on Saturday at Wolverhampton, where stable companion OVERNIGHT OATS claimed the next race on the card comfortably. The four-year-old gelding by MUHAARAR was claiming his fourth back-to-back victory for the stable and sporting the yellow silks of GTS Racing.
Sunday saw STAR LEGEND return to form in a Handicap Hurdle at Fakenham to score by almost two lengths. The five-year-old son of GALILEO has been a fun horse for previous connections with a busy racing campaign and shares have recently become available.
