Although only a month ago, Cheltenham seems to be a distant memory as the busy life in a dual purpose yard doesn't stop to catch a breath. The opening session didn't disappoint as BURDETT ROAD stayed on resolutely and avoided the drama to finish second in the Gr.1 Champion Hurdle. The game son of MUHAARAR became James' first Festival placing and within the hour The Gredley Family silks claimed another Festival placing as LIAM SWAGGER finished third in the Gr.3 Fred Winter, narrowly missing out on second by a short head.

By Thursday, ONE BIG BANG had finished fifth and GROZNI sixth in the Final Handicap Hurdle and Fulke Alwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup respectively, while Friday's action returned to centre stage once more. BURDET ROAD's GOLDEN HORN half-brother EAST INDIA DOCK faced the starter having come into the race with two Gr.2 trials under his belt. In a week of surprise results, EAST INDIA DOCK skipped round to try and make all but was caught close home to finish a gallant third, only a length shy of the winner. This young horse displayed plenty of promise and remains an exciting prospect for The Gredley Family.

The yard remained in high form following Cheltenham, with the team's hard work and dedication rewarded with 11 winners in 11 days up to 7th April. The youngest of these was first season sire LOPE Y FERNANDEZ's daughter SOCIAL EXCLUSION who made all at Southwell to get up comfortably by three lengths. Firing on all codes, Jenny Owen also landed further success in Pointing with ICONIC JACK last weekend, while the yard also sent out their first Arabian runners of the season to land two placings at Wolverhampton earlier this week.

Next week Newmarket town comes alive with the Craven Meeting and the Breeze-Up Sales at Tattersalls. James will be available at both and holds orders to secure more exciting juveniles for the yard. Please get in contact if you would like James to source bloodstock and we have exciting horses arriving on a regular basis to suit all budgets and ownership styles - contact us for more details.

ICONIC JACK got up by four lengths at High Easter on Saturday, sporting Mr Boyce's silks in the spring sunshine.
