What January Blues?

Despite the festive period and the recent drop in temperature, it remains full steam ahead at Green Ridge Stables. Our last winner of 2024 was chalked up on 27th December and, having been knocking at the door leading up to the New Year, our first winner of 2025 arrived swiftly in the form of NAZARE on 2nd January. Runner-up on racecourse debut at Southwell last month he landed the spoils with plenty of room to spare and shares are still available in this exciting five-year-old through Helen Williams at Racehorse Ownership.

The consistent KHANGAI duly delivered the following day with a three-quarter length victory when sporting a first-time visor and holds entries over the coming week. Dr C A Barnett’s HIGH COURT JUDGE was next off the mark this Monday, with the yellow silks flashing past the post a length clear of the field in his first victory since joining the yard in October.

Having already claimed two victories in December, FOREVER PROUD returned to the winners’ enclosure at Wolverhampton with a dominating two-length victory on Tuesday. Switching to Lingfield yesterday for a quick turnaround, he just missed the mark by a neck when carrying a penalty and missed out on the hat-trick. On the Chelmsford card CARLTON claimed a hat-trick by an impressive three and a quarter lengths is as many starts since switching to the yard in December. This was the final of five winners over the last eight days for a combined winning distance of over 8 lengths!
