As a former successful amateur jockey, James knows what it takes to win.

 

All year round, James and his team pride themselves on offering a faultless service. Attention to detail is second to none for James and this allowed him to become one of the biggest and most successful pre-trainers in the area.

Alongside his pre training business, James trained Point-To-Point horses and Arabian Horses. With his passion for Pointing, James still trains a small string of horses alongside his wife Jenny for owners and owner riders who have a passion for the sport. 

​

James is also well known for being very successful with Arabian Horses, having trained a string of them since starting his career, and has since gained five UK Arabian Champion Trainer title's. 

​

Just over a year ago, James took out his licence to train under rules. Operating with a dual purpose licence, he can run horses under National Hunt and Flat Racing rules. Since taking out his licence, the yard has gone from strength to strength, with 43 winners already and a strike rate of 22%. A Grade 2 win at Cheltenham with Burdett Road has been the highlight so far, highlighting that James can train horses right at the top.

Starting with just a few licenced horses, he now has 49 in training and anyone interested in having a horse trained at Green Ridge Stables are encouraged to get in contact.
